I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of slippers. The problem, many are heavy, and have an extremely hard plastic bottom that doesn’t bend. Very uncomfortable.
At the store, I saw these pink glamour slippers. They reminded me of Marilyn Monroe. Practical, no! Fun and flirty, YES! I like pink, so was immediately enamored.
Searching online, I found these blue Ugg slippers. My first impression, soft and comfy. My second thought, fashionable. At least, they don’t look like granny slippers… DO THEY?
My Dad was a fanatic about slippers. He didn’t like bare feet or wearing just socks around the house, which he felt cleaned the floor. It’s true. If you don’t believe this, wear a pair of white socks around your house for a day. You will need a ton, and I do mean a ton, of bleach to make them white again.
I’m curious. How many of you wear slippers? If you do, what is your criteria for them.

Yup, I wear slippers around the house. We have marble floors here in Spain that get very cold in the winter. I also don’t like bare feet or wearing just socks. Today in the post office, a lady came in wearing slippers similar to the pink pair shown.

LOL, Darlene, the lady in the Post Office… She’s a character for a book! Thanks for making me smile.

Love slippers. I have furry lined sketchers clogs and I have pink fuzzy ones similar to the UGGs ones you showed but the Amazon version

Love that!! I can see you in them. Even though I haven’t seen you…You know what I mean.

My feet get cold, so my preferred “slippers” are down-filled camping booties. Basically, a cozy sleeping bag for your foot. They look ridiculous, but are amazing.

They sound great. The temps dropped here in Chicago, I’m really wanting “those kind” of slippers right now. The floors do get cold.

The brand I have is not out of business, but they’re kind of like this. Hideous, but so warm! https://www.rei.com/product/223091/outdoor-research-tundra-trax-booties-mens?color=GROVE%20CAMO

Those do look warm and cozy. I would probably go with bright blue, even more hideous, right. They wouldn’t work in houses where people have the heat on 75… my gosh, I walk in a house like that and I need to open all the windows. LOL Thanks for sharing, I like REI.

I wear slippers too. Nothing to fancy. Gotta have an open back for easy entry and exit. I prefer green, but a blue will do.
I hate going barefoot or just socks around the house (I’m the only one). Everyone else loves it. Ewww. I can really tell how dirty the floors are. LoL

I love your choice of green or blue. Neutral seems boring, but I like bright colors. Easy back entry, had not thought of that. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t wear slippers per se, but have a pair of soft house Skechers for home and Duck shoes when on the road. Not sure the Duck shoes are fashionable. At my age, comfort trumps fashion. 😊Have a great day. Allan

Thanks, Allan. I agree, comfort is key.

It’s a great topic and the comments are interesting. Slippers, definitely for me. In fact, they’re on my Christmas list (again) this year because I’ve worn out my current pair. Must have a soft sole. Must have a back. Must be able to be slipped on without the use of the hands. The white sock thing doesn’t bother me, even though you’re spot-on about how much dirt/dust/animal hair they pick up over the day. I’m perfectly comfortable in socks. Slippers are for the morning, just after you wake up. Socks are for the rest of a day where you’re not leaving the house.

This was funny. I mean slippers in AM, but socks in PM.

Nobody’s going to see them so I don’t care what they look like. Except one year my grandkids bought me some big bear paw slippers. Now I can comfortably go bearfoot anytime.

That’s funny, Herb! You have a good sense of humor. You could pull off those slippers!!

I just got my slippers out this week. I bought a pair of UGG slippers for my daughter several years ago for Christmas. They were a half size too small for her, but fit me just right!

In Finland, on our warm wooden floors, I wear a comfortable pair of woollen slippers. They are Austrian and the trademark is Giesswein.

Thank you for sharing the type/brand. You reminded me, my Italian grandmother wore woolen slippers too. I’ll do a search for them. 🙂

I have to wear orthopedic slippers. Last year I came down with plantar fasciitis and need to have have something on my feet that provides support so my feet don’t hurt. Also, while I like slippers, my feet get hot quickly so I’m likely to put slippers on and a hour later will take them off because my feet are too hot.

Wow, you’ve had that plantar fasciitis for a long time. I think mine lasted a few months, but not a year. Have you been doing what you are supposed to do to heal it? I remember at night it was difficult wearing the sock that pulled my toes to my calf, but it was necessary to heal my plantar fasciitis.

It’s mostly healed, but if I start walking in bare feet, or without proper support, it comes back. It’s also complicated by a bone spur.

I see, yes, feet are tricky. We realize how proper shoes, etc are critical.

Yes. And, we have different slippers for in the house and outside the house.

I’m intrigued. Outside the house? What do you mean? Like going into the garage?

Nope. On the road. Outside the main gate, I don’t know what would you refer that as.

I also have a pair of house shoes. They sell really inexpensive sliders all over Belize, so I have a few pairs. I have to say the most comfortable slippers I ever had were Uggs. Thanks for posting!
