I was walking in a Chicago neighborhood, looking at the homes, listening to the birds.
When right in front of me was an apple tree, handing over the sidewalk.
Of course, I wanted to take one. I mean it was right there in front of me, but…
I thought of that scene in The Wizard of Oz, when the trees come alive, see clip from YouTube.
So, I merely admired the apple tree and walked on.
Such a FUN walk!

I was told the only thing worse than biting into an apple and finding a worm is to bite into an apple and finding half a worm.

I very well remember the scene in which Dorothy tries to pick an apple from and is then slapped by the tree. Apples are the most widely grown fruit in my country, Latvia, and there are lines of orchards literally everywhere you look. During the harvesting season, many people leave boxes of apples on the side of the road for others to enjoy. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

You don’t want any of THOSE apples, Dorothy!

By coincidence, the only apple orchard I recall was in my cousin’s backyard… in Winnetka. I didn’t realize the Chicago area was so “ripe” for growing apples. I’d completely forgotten about the scene in WoO but I can see how the thought would’ve made you pause 🙂
