So, this is kind of funny. When I was in Ireland a few years ago. I was looking at their woolen hats. They had all kinds, but the one I fell in love one was this pink one with the sheep.
I thought, “Is this a kids hat??
I mean, it fit me, but was it too childish for an older adult to wear?
Winter has started.
I went to put this hat on the other day. I love it, but I keep thinking, “Is this too youthful for an older adult?”
Keep in mind, I have an Italian mother. She would say, “We wear gym shoes to play tennis, NOT to go to town. We wear flip flops at the beach, NOT to dinner… On and on with fashion do’s and don’ts.”
If I wear it, maybe I could be Auntie Mame. LOL Remember that movie? Be a little eccentric about it.
I always loved Diane Keaton for having a quirky style, owning it and not caring what “others” thought!
So…Help me out. Should I, or shouldn’t I, wear this hat? Hint I’m older than 55.

I love when I see others wearing quirky, eccentric, and fun outfits or accessories, especially when they own it and look confident and joyful in the outfit choice. I say go for it!! You only live once.

Big HUGS to you. YES, I enjoy seeing people who look “out of the ordinary too.” It’s joyful and funny. I once stopped a lady in Seattle, because she had white hair, looked beautiful and was wearing this bright yellow rain coat that we see Paddington Bear wear. It was just so amusing! I felt the same, good for her to “own this cute look!”

Wear the Hat! It is adorable and you would look great in it. No one would ever question why you are wearing it. They may wish they had one just like it though.

LOL, I like your thinking, Darlene! You are right, I have gotten compliments on the sheep. People seem to love sheep.

I have a teacher friend living now in Nigeria with her family and teaching. This is her hobby, knitting hats and showing them to us on social media. It keeps her busy.

Wonderful! I’m sure she has a lot of designs. I enjoy knitting too, simple knitting for me though. Blankets, scarves.

Go for it – wear the hat as it is so pretty and colourful. The other day, on a school run, I saw a mum wearing one of those knitted hats that look like animal heads with long dangling mittens attached that are made to look like paws. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day :)Aiva xx

Honor Diane and wear what you want. If someone smirks at you … give them a smirk and a Bronx cheer back🤣🤣🤣🤣

Of course you should wear it! I am not a fashion expert, of course: my favourite winter hat has two white googly eyes on it (sort of crossed eyes, of course.) And I do not dye my hair and I wear it longer than shoulder length – and I am well past 70 years old. To me, fashion is whatever is clean that day…

Wear the hat and enjoy. It will make those you feel important smile:) Who cares about the others?

I say go for it! If there is a rule about this, it would be that while ladies older than 55 can make a hat like this work, the only men who can pull it off are those who have someone to wipe their slobber for them. 🙂

It’s cute…I like the sheep. .I would wear it…..but maybe for casual ware, while out walking or doing errands, not to work!

PS. I find it hard to find a nice winter hat, as I don’t like pompoms, and most winter hats have pompoms. I absolutely refuse to wear pompoms.

That’s funny. I think with most hats, if you look under the Pom Pom, you can see where it was sewn on and just easily cut it off and have the hat you like.

I have tried that, but sometimes it’s sewn on so tight it leaves a hole! I like a fleece lined hat when I walk, so two layers, and that’s hard to find too, in a nice color.
