Summer Puzzling…

I was at Hobby Lobby recently. They were having a puzzle sale, 40% off. Now, that was a good deal. So, I looked at my options. I found this one by Brother Sister Design Studio. I was curious about the “soft touch.”

This was a fabulous puzzle. First off, it’s so cheerful. I was surprised at how huge the puzzle pieces were. I give a comparison, see the blue puzzle piece, it’s from a 1,000 piece puzzle I’m working on. Then to the right was a puzzle piece from this puzzle. Fun, but it did feel a little bit like going back to grade school.

Finally, the finished product. HOWEVER, it’s hard to fit the pieces in the box, see photo. I mean, who wants to “carefully” stack puzzle pieces in a box, so they will fit?? Not me, but I do LOVE this puzzle.

So, I guess I’ll have to stack them nicely… LOL

Cheers to more puzzling.

Spring – The sun was so BRIGHT today!

We have had such rain the past week or so. It does get gloomy. So, today I was pleasantly surprised to take a walk this morning and feel the warm sun. As I looked up, I thought how amazing the sun was, so huge.

Then as I continued on, spring flowers are popping up.

Have a wonderful Spring filled weekend!!

LEGO®, always a new design…

I was at the store the other day. As I walked by the children’s section, I saw the legos. I always stop and see what they have. I fell in love with this owl, the book and that different animals can be made with the kit.

LEGO® had their Advent Calendars out too. They looked fun, but I don’t have any grandchildren yet.

The holidays are coming, I decided to look at their website, see what adult legos they have. Look at this, they have the Mona Lisa. What a great gold frame. There are so many great designs.

Here’s to feeling like a kid. Fond memories bring us back, don’t they, especially with holidays approaching!

Winter has arrived… Time for knitting!

What do you do when your weather hits -1 degrees? The weatherman says if we are out for more than 10 minutes, we can get frost bitten. We don’t believe him/her. So, we bundle up (just in case, they’re right) and head outside. We don’t last more than five minutes and we are back in the house.

As I was house bound, I wondered what to do. Ok, read a book, watch TV, call a friend, clean the house, writer extra blog posts (LOL)… you get the idea. I needed something different. The light bulb went off.

Where was all my extra yarn?

I found it after a good search. I decided I’d make a lap blanket. So, I’ve been happily knitting in the evenings. Inside a knitter’s mind.

Knit, knit, knit…REPEAT.                                         Next row.                                                  Knit, knit, knit… REPEAT.

It’s like we are in a trance. I’m using an Alpaca yarn, it’s very lush and warm. Perfect for cold weather.

While I’ve been knitting, I started listening to The Boys in the Boat, by Daniel James Brown. The movie is out now, but usually the book is better. Isn’t the recommendation to always read the book first?

Has anyone seen the movie yet? Would love to hear your review.

Create ART using water; Buy a Buddha Board

86F99B28-B5D9-4164-9D01-13AC68056F8DA friend of mine sent me a picture of this Buddha Board. She knows I have been practicing drawing, but also focused on a zen lifestyle.

Founder and CEO, Eric Thrall, created the Buddha Board to give children and adults a fun, relaxing and quick way to “be creative” and “in the moment.” With the Buddha Board, you draw with water, within 10 minutes your drawing fades away. So, you don’t have to be perfect, instead you are FREE to be as creative as you like.

This would make a great gift. Also, be wonderful at the office. We have a candy jar and employees come by for a treat. I bet if we had a Buddha Board by the candy jar, people would enjoy being creative.

When I was young, we all had an “Etch A Sketch.” We LOVED drawing, even though it was a bit cumbersome to use, we enjoyed it. The Buddha Board is modern and allows for more freedom in drawing and a lot easier to use. I’m excited about this, I want to try it out!
