I haven’t looked at clouds for a long time. Yesterday, I was waiting for someone. Lost in thought, I realized that while the sun was shinning on one side of me, on the other side it was dark. So, I looked up into the sky and saw this dark cloud coming in.
I always think of The Wizard of Oz movie when I see dark clouds like this. Remember Dorothy sitting on her bed, while the tornado spins around her? Great idea to have scenes from “back home in Kansas” viewed through her window. Then her house lands in Oz, she’s not in Kansas anymore. She’s welcomed by Glinda (the good witch) and the Munchkins. Fabulous!
We’ve been having a lot of storms lately in Chicago. High winds, thunder, lightening, etc.
Summer is almost over. However, I remember last year reading that summer was at the end of September. How could that be? Is that true? Our weather now feels like late September.

We’ve been without our monsoons in Arizona this summer. I’d love to see some storms!

It is nice, and a perfect time to curl up with a book.

I just read there’s a huge storm coming to Southern California and Nevada. We’re currently at the border of where the storm could hit in Santa Barbara.

How exciting. The other day we were getting gas and the wife jumped out of the car & yelled, “we have to go, we have to go NOW!” There was a tornado coming down the street. Missed us thankfully.

I love summer, but I think I’m ready for some cooler weather! 🙂 Summer will still be here for awhile–the first day of fall is September !

And as Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, “Be still, sad heart! And cease repining. Behind the clouds is the sun still shining. Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall.”

Yes, that’s what I learned last year, that “technically” FALL starts mid-September, not end of August.

End of summer is technically late September but labor day is oft considered the unofficial end
