Every day is full of surprises. While in Florence, I stayed at Holiday House Borgo Pinti, run by the Oblate of Assumption Sisters. A beautiful sanctuary located behind the Duomo, a ten minute walk. Religious stays are interesting. Each place quite different; however, the common theme is peacefulness.
Every morning, after breakfast, I would walk in their beautiful garden, filled with roses.
On this particular morning, as I walked by this statue. I stopped in front of it, listening to the birds singing. For some reason, I looked down and something “white” caught my attention.
As you can see. I was walking on gravel, all the stones seem to meld together.

As I bent down, I found this, “Make a Wish” stone with a feather close by. How lovely.
Some Canadians were walking by, I showed them. One of them immediately said, “that’s a dandelion,” there is spiritual significance in that. I hadn’t noticed the dandelion. I was focused on the words, “Make a Wish.”
This was important, staying at a spiritual place, behind the Duomo. A wish could come true! I looked up at the sky, sun shinning, thought of my Italian grandmother, was this HER doing?
Sure enough, in researching the spiritual meaning of the dandelions, it is said they provide resilience, hope, transformation, new beginnings and the ability to manifest desires. Wow, I sure needed that!
So, with the holiday season here. We have many challenges in life. I share this with YOU.
MAKE… YOUR… WISH!!
Miracles happen…AND… follow your instincts, ie me looking down and finding this stone.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Very cool story, Brilliant-VP. I checked out your accommodations. How did the bed sleep. The photo showed the beds looking hard.
Have a great WISH!

I felt the beds were good, not overly hard. Although, I’ve always preferred a more firm mattress. Go to monasterystays.com. Everything in life, depends on budget, location, etc. I’ve also stayed at Villa Agape, this is above Pizza Michelangelo. I had found it on the. MonasteryStays.com website. This is a normal hotel, there’s a story on WHY it is on the MonasteryStays website, but there are no Nuns. I love that place, but very expensive depending on the season. Fabulous breakfast included. From what I remember, they had a TV in the room, if that’s something you want.

You have finally given me a reason to appreciate the dandelions that pepper my lawn every spring!

My gosh, IMAGINE how many WISHES you can make! Good to teach the grandkids, if / when you have them. Have some fun blowing them in the wind…

I smile, because it was left there on purpose, so a bit of help from my Guardian Angel had me notice it, right. When God feels we could use a WISH. 💕

You chose to use the Cambridge Dictionary “word of 2024”! (manifest) What a wonderful story of discovery. I would’ve looked up the spiritual connection of dandelions had you not explained it to us. Yes, I believe these findings are motivated by forces beyond our understanding. I hope, someday, you’ll be able to confirm this particular incident was a credit to your grandmother’s angel. Makes me think of Clarence in “It’s A Wonderful Life”. We won’t forget to watch the film around Christmas.

Wow, I did not know dictionaries had words of the year. Manifest is a good one. I wonder what the word will be for 2025… You’ll need to let us know!

Make a wish stone is beautiful. I wonder who painted it. We don’t see dandelions in my place but we saw many when we were in Germany in June. Our daughter and family live there.

What a delightful find. I didn’t know about the meaning of dandelions. We get them here, some are very large.

Did you know that they are first a yellow flour and then they turn into the dandelion? I learned that a few years ago. Boy was that a surprise.

I worked that out during Covid when I spent more time in the garden and noticed the changes.
