When my children were young, we always had a chocolate Advent calendar.
Well, this year, I learned that there are Advent Calendars in PUZZLE form. Yes, see photo. You do one puzzle a day and by Christmas Eve, you have the entire puzzle scene finished.
As you can see, I got a little excited and kept puzzling. Each day, in this particular puzzle, there are ~50 pieces a day. So, it’s fun and easy.
I really liked this stained glass Christmas scene. However, they have puzzles that are not religious in nature and where each puzzle stands alone. So, this can be for everyone who enjoys puzzling.
Anyone else out there doing an PUZZLE Advent Calendar?

Dave (above) (Life in a Word) sent me here to see the puzzle YOU (and also Dave) are putting together after I commented on his post about MY puzzle. I am also doing a 24-day puzzle, but mine involves 24 separate mini puzzles, not adding to a master puzzle. Each puzzle is 5 inches square and 50 pieces … a daily dog dressed up in festive Christmas attire. It is very cute. I have been taking photos of each puzzle and will be doing a slideshow on Christmas Eve for Wordless Wednesday. My puzzle is by Eurographics and called “Christmas Paws” and they have many varieties of the mini puzzles, including a similar Nativity scenes.

Hi Linda, So glad you stopped by. I’m going to head over and see your puzzle. I’ve been in a puzzle mood lately, especially with winter, it’s such a fun past time. I’m doing (2) Advent Calendars. Well, we have these Advent Calendars in common and I am enjoying mine. I will be posting the 24 photos in a slideshow on Christmas Eve for Wordless Wednesday, but will do a sneak peak of the box and puzzle #1 at the end of my Sunday post. The Christmas dogs are very cute. I’ve saved a lot of my late mom’s puzzles that she did and I liked and thought I’d get into puzzling with these small ones.

How nice that your Mom puzzled. My mother absolutely refuses, but then enjoys seeing the beautiful ones I work on. She prefers Bridge at the Senior center. However, she says she sees women puzzling. I told her to stop by, see who is there. Never know who she might meet. Oh, my name is Monica.

I can remember my mom working on 1,000-piece puzzles and saying she only got a few pieces that day – that’s a lot of patience there. Some of these 50-piece puzzles gave me a run for my money. 🙂 There is a Senior Center near me and the senior bus picks up residents and takes them home after they spend the day there playing cards, visiting and they provide meals too. That’s great company for them. A friend of mine and her husband just moved to a retirement facility and she said people do puzzles on tables and leave them out all the time for anyone to sit down to work on them. It’s nice to “meet” you Monica. We have some mutual blogging friends, Joni, JP and Dave – maybe more? I’m glad Dave pointed me out to your puzzle post after I mentioned the Advent puzzles to him in conjunction with his Lego build.

LOL -there’s still time now. Some calendars are 12 days and not religious themed. Just something fun to do in December.

You can still do it. Most of them are only 50-100 pieces a day and we are normally doing 500-1,000 piece puzzles. It’s fun to look forward to a small puzzle every day.

Have you found the Advent calendars with cheese and chocolates at Aldi’s? I am assuming you have one where you live. Is it Minneapolis or Chicago?

I have never heard of this, but it sounds fun. But your getting ahead on the puzzles kind of sounds like an excited kid who blows through the candy early on a more traditional calendar. 😁

True, my daughter said she used to go through her chocolates and then close the door to make it “look like” chocolate was still inside. LOL
