Wow – What a difference a day makes! On Saturday, Chicago turned the Chicago River green for St Patrick’s Day.
You can see we had normal weather. It was cold, that leprauchan had to be freezing, but mild temps.
Then suddenly on Saturday afternoon, snow started falling, by Sunday night a snow storm.

So, this weekend we had our big celebrations.
Happy St Patrick’s Day!

Hard to compete with Chicago when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations! Er, other than the Irish themselves 🙂

Thank goodness they had the river dying event on Saturday … I’ve heard of this annual tradition and I think it is the local union of plumbers that does the honors, but have never seen pictures of the green river. How fun and adding the sharks’ fins is extra fun!

I love how they do that there.

I love the tradition of making the river green! We did our annual St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage yesterday – a great day tostay inside with a hot meal, given the frigid temperatures and stiff winds. I did not realize until too late that we were out of Guinness!

I am curious how long the water stays green once they pour the dye in?
