WP – NEW Achievement Awards

Anyone else start receiving WP Achievement Awards. LOL – I’d like to think I have a FANTASTIC blog, so I was amused when I received this World Domination Achievement unlocked.

What’s behind that one? How did I achieve it? I am flying high this AM, even though I secretly know it’s not true.

PRETENDING is fun. YES, I rock! YES, I dominate this Blog site! YES, everyone wants to hear what I have to say!

I guess… it’s a fun way for them (WP) to motivate us… play a game of getting “MORE” Achievement Awards.

I’m not sure where to find them. Looked around, but didn’t see them.

I mean, if I have these two, WHAT else have I achieved!

Here’s to NEW —ACHIEVEMENT— goals this second quarter of the year, RIGHT!?!?

Have a great long weekend!

  1. I was not aware of achievement awards so looked it up. Looks like you can find them at (wordpress.com/reader/users/your user name/achievements). Looks like I have a few achievements too that I was unaware of!

  2. I have taken a break from writing blogs but still answering once a week. Trying to get a few things finished with my writing (Book 3 of the trilogy) and to focus on that and medical and health for myself and husband. Way back, like 8 years ago, or so I used to win awards for mystery blogger and other things. Then, I had to nominate a few bloggers. It was fun to do but I haven’t seen this for awhile.

    1. Book 3?? Did you publish Book 2 already? Gee, where has the time gone. It seems like it was just recently that you were promoting Book 1. I haven’t been on WP that often. I do try to post once a week, but I’m not on every day seeing what people have written anymore. Not sure when I stopped checking daily. I’m sorry to hear about health issues. We all have “something,” some more than others. So, sending 🙏 your way. I’ve been dealing with some things too. We need to stay positive and laugh as much as possible. That’s good for healing. Thank you for still stopping by. How is your garden? You used to post of different things you were doing and plants growing, etc. It’s Spring, so flowers must be blooming. 💕🌺

      1. Moving slowly on bookstores and signing as I just retired from teaching, taking care of husband. His health has been challenging but I think things will improve and for me, with my hip. Was asked to do a few books signings and the local libraries read my novels, and they are on display.

      2. As hard as it is, getting out, meeting new people helps in personal healing. Mainly to keep our spirits up, versus down. We have to stay “out of our heads,” I think you know what I mean. Have some tea or coffee in your lovely backyard too, hear the birds chirp, get some sun. It sure takes effort for all of us at different times in life to not let our minds go to doom and gloom. Here’s to having a great day!

      3. Thanks, yes many good things have happened also. Things are really good in many ways. Appreciate your thoughts. Health concerns can be exacting but our docs are taking care of it and we are lucky in many many ways. Thank you.

      4. Thank you for the health wishes! Mine are more mendable than my husband with metastatic cancer. Mine is probably going to be hip surgery but we are both holding our own. I tend to keep things to myself and soldier through but best wishes for all. Thank you!

  3. I received some this week and didn’t know what to make of them either. I wrote WP and asked if they were legit? I heard back from the AI bot and they asked for a sample, which I sent … so this must be something new. I’ve been blogging since 2013, so this is a first! Well yay us Monica!

    1. LOL – I’ve been blogging since 2015, so a little less time than you. Yes, they are trying to motivate people in a new way. For me, I miss the Discovery section. I think that’s what it was called. Where they featured different bloggers, always interesting topics. Now, it seems it’s all about their SILLY prompt for the day. Is that all that people can write about? I guess the prompts are there for people to engage with each other. Sigh! Back when we started blogging it was so different.

      1. I really like the “old way” better to be honest. I just got into Notifications a few minutes ago and today I got an “Activity Streak Freeze” because I am on here every day for seven days in a row. Sigh! They keep moving around how you view Reader. And I always make sure my comment “takes” before I “like” anything as I’ve “liked” in the past, then for some reason, the comment doesn’t “take”. Life is already mind-boggling enough!

      2. I like keeping things simple! (I was replying to you and got exited out of here by WP so I came back and all my Notifications/comments were gone so I exited again and they’re back … no words!)

  4. I got these same awards. My reaction was different. They struck me as a condescending pat on the head, accompanied by a big, fake smile and a “Good Job!” of the kind I might reserve for some stranger’s special needs child. Do I still need gold star stickers like I got in kindergarten?

OK, I acknowledge that I might be on the misanthropic frontier of curmudgenliness today. But WordPress started it!

  5. Awards or no awards I DO want to hear what you have to say. And you’d think WordPress could use AI to come up with something less generic than “You ROCK…”; more like “You’re BRILLIANT!” 🙂
