I haven’t had to use stamps for a long time. When I was mailing a package the other day, the Post Mistress asked, “Will there be anything else, ie stamps?”
I saw the notice that stamps were going up July 12, 2026 by 4 cents. So, I bought some. I told her she could give me any pack, I wasn’t particular.
She pulled out these, “Baby Wild Animals.” They are cute.
So, if you need stamps. GET THEM NOW. Why pay extra if you don’t need to.
Have a great day!

Thanks for the heads up! I was told by a postmistress that the prices were rising last year for Christmas, but that they would go back down. I don’t think she had that right.😳

Probably at the time that’s what she was told, but we know in life… prices go up, they never come down.

I bought a lifetime supply of “Forever stamps” about 15 years ago. I’m so glad I did!

Wow – I didn’t know postage rates were going up AGAIN. Thanks for the heads-up. I rarely use stamps either and the book of Forever stamps I have is plain ol’ flags. I’d rather have these cute baby wild animals.

They have so many beautiful stamps to choose from. I do send cards occasionally and it is nice to use a pretty stamp. Head over there, get a book.

Yes, the post office has a better variety than the grocery store and my grocery store’s official USPS station closed suddenly. I never mail packages, but I’m sure some people found it handier going to Meijer’s service desk to mail packages, especially around the holidays.

I usually spend summers in a rural area about 20 minutes from a small town. Last July I needed stamps and was prepared to be delighted with a variety of choices. The only “books” of stamps were Christmas stamps! 🤦🏼♀️😂

LOL – Well, don’t they say, “Christmas in July.” 😉

Trying to cover my surprise, “Christmas in July” is exactly what I responded to the clerk!

I didn’t know that people still used stamps, there you go.

Yes, not so often, but at Christmas I still have a few friends who send actual Christmas cards. It’s nice. Or if someone passed, we send a card in the mail or a birthday. Sometimes, it’s nice to be old fashioned, send something in the mail. My daughter sent me a postcard from Spain. I was so surprised. It was nice.

You can only use stamps if you have a postal service. Sadly South Africa only has private couriers now, the government postal service collapsed due to mismanagement.

Ah, I see. Well, ours is heading in that direction, but still hanging on.

I don’t even know what stamps cost here anymore, as the last time I bought them I got a pack of ten permanent stamps, and still have 8 left, so I’m sure the stamps will outlive me. I just googled and they are $1.44 for a stamp, and $1.24 if you buy a book of ten. Usually if I have to mail something registered, like a passport if you are renewing one, it’s more weight and registered mail etc.

Yes, in general we don’t mail things anymore, but “sometimes.”

I bought a pack of 20 Forevers at least a year ago and I still haven’t used them all. Other than Christmas cards – where I buy the holiday packs – it’s a rare occasion where I’m sending something through U.S.P.S. anymore. Having said that, I do like the choice you made in Baby Wild Animals!
