This past weekend I was in Wisconsin. I happened to see these bird houses.
I liked how they look; however, made out of metal they don’t look too cozy. Also, I noticed they don’t have a ledge to put birdseed. Would birds go inside this DARK house to eat food?
What do you think? Would birds come or are they just for garden decoration?

Interesting. The birds in our yard go into their homemade birdhouses in our saguaro cacti. I get lots of visitors to my bird feeder.

Here in my desert environment, I’d worry that they’d get too hot for birds, but they are lovely.

Oh, you are right!!! I didn’t think about the outside temps, but we are in Chicago and right now we have cooler temps.

That’s so funny. I have to admit, I’d go the sand/dirt route too. Looks like a park, why go on a man made side walk.

They are very pretty, but like you, I wonder at the use of metal. Maybe in a warmer environment, they would be fine, but in hot and cold weather, the transference might make them uncomfortable.. Cheers. ALlan

By the way, you’ve been quiet lately. I thought about you, because I went to Devil’s Lake a few weekends ago. You always write nice posts on Wisconsin. Maybe with holidays coming you’ll have some places we should visit. 🙂
