It’s official, it’s 2026. LOL – I’m sharpening my pencils for writing. This is the year to get my children’s book done. I plan on self-publishing, but I need to find an illustrator and learn “how” to self-publish. 😉

I understand! Self-publishing a large novel is difficult. I rely on my hybrid publisher to help me edit and get it up and out to different markets. Perhaps you can find someone on WordPress who might illustrate for you. I follow a retired couple and she illustrates wonderfully. Well, she is a really good artist but I don’t know if she does this. She and her husband live in Alabama. I once told her she would be perfect illustrating children’s books.

It’s a process, isn’t it. My daughter might have someone who can help me, but I’m not quite there yet. Picture books need to be 500 words or less, so a lot of word cutting involved. :).

If you type in ‘art’ on her search button, her work comes up. I just thought I would throw out her name. I think I did suggest it to her as she is retired but anyway. Good artist!

Happy New Year, Monica! I reserve my toast for peace, between other countries at war and between the divide in our own country. It’s asking a lot, of course, but hope is a good thing, right?

I finally got all my mosaic pieces and mosaic materials down to Florida. I finally got a table for it, so now all I need to do is start working on them 🙂
