Yesterday was an interesting day. I was running errands. Parked my car, opened the car door and a $1 bill was there.

Some Good Luck coming my way.

When I walked in the store, I immediately saw this shirt. I thought of St Patrick’s Day, the Luck of the Irish.

Finally, I decided to stop at the thrift store, look at the puzzles.

I fell in LOVE with this Ravensburger beach scene. I’ve never done a 2,000 piece puzzle. Looks like it was time.

BAD NEWS, the box was not taped closed. When I opened it, the pieces were not in a bag, but they looked plentiful?!?

I thought about the $1 I had just found. The puzzle was $1.99.

I decided to add 99 cents and take the RISK that when I put the puzzle together – ALL the pieces will be there!

This scene is a reminder, Spring / Summer are coming!

  1. I once found a $5 bill walking the pug on the side of the road and a lottery ticket blown to the side of our home. It was a $50 ticket, not one I would buy. I stick with $2 and it had not been scratched! I dried it off but alas, it was not a sign, not a winner. However, a good story.

  2. I once found a $100.00 bill on the sidewalk near a construction site. I assumed it belonged to one of the workers and since it such a large sum, I didn’t feel right keeping it. I turned it in to the foreman who was in a trailer on site. He said if no one reported missing it in a week, I should come back. So I did. He said no one had reported any money missing so I could keep it. I bought a very good pair of walking shoes with it that lasted about 8 years.

    1. So, another FUNNY thing happened. I was at the GoodWill looking at puzzles. I went to check out, there was a huge line. As I tried to walk between people, there on the floor was $45. I looked at the people in line, the one in front, the one to the back. Both said it was not theirs. So, I picked up the $$ and brought it to Cashier in case someone would ask if it was found. Doubtful. I think the Cashier felt like it was HER lucky day. I feel bad, because whoever lost that money, it meant a lot! But If I had asked people around, who knows what people would have said. Tough situation. It’s when people have $$ in pocket and maybe pull out cell phone, money falls out. Who knows. Anyhow, I’ll light a candle on this. 🙏 Have a nice Sunday.

      1. Well, I have a 1,000 piece that I’ve been working on for a week or so. It all depends on how much time I spend on it every day, right. It also depends on the puzzles. Some puzzles, 1,000 piece, go quickly. It’s strange, I just keep putting pieces in. THEN, there are other 1,000 piece puzzles that drag on. Not sure why, but I do a tiny section and call it quits for the day. Doesn’t that happen to you? So, I don’t think about the timeframe. There’s always a puzzle whether it is one or starting a new one, right. It’s like reading a book. Sometimes we read quickly, other times the story drags on, but we want to finish it. GOOD NEWS, our weather has warmed up, I can walk outside. How is your weather? The snow is almost all melted.Hey, there is a new puzzle brand, you can find at your Marshalls or TJ Max in Canada called – HOBBRY. It’s a really nice quality puzzle, pretty illustrations. Those go quickly, 500 pieces.

      2. To be honest I haven’t been able to do a puzzle since mom died. It’s a grief thing, I think. I used to buy her a 1000 piece one every year for Christmas and it would take her about a month to do it. But as she got older, and I lived with her for a few years, I never bought more than 500 piece, and later 300, with big size pieces, but she still enjoyed them, even if I would have to correct the pieces sometimes, esp if it as a dark piece and her vision wasn’t good. But someday I hope to pick it up again, and I’ll look for that brand. I can’t even imagine doing a 2000 one. I have seen those puzzle organizer boards with storage organizers in Marshalls and think how we could have used that! We used old chocolate boxes etc. Snow is melting and sun is out and I’m going out for a walk! It’s nice to feel the sun on your face. Next week looks all above 40. Agree, some books are like that, you can slog through a 600 page book over 2 weeks or read one in 3 or 4 days!

      3. I understand how grief is. I wonder if you have this brand in Canada. It’s called WerkShoppe, they have really nice quality 100 piece puzzles. LOL – they come in a snack size pouch.       5. Have you ever shopped at PuzzlesCanada.ca? They have so many puzzles, European ones too, so nice. I’m sure you’d find something you like. They recently had a sale. Hard for them to ship to U.S. now because of Tariffs, but I used to order from them.
