Remember a while back, I asked you how you ate your corn?
Well, I was at a friend’s house and I saw something surprising.
They cut their avocado in a circle, while I cut mine lengthwise. I’ve never seen this.
So, this made me THINK…
Is there a “right” way to cut an avocado? Hummm
Something to ponder this weekend when you cut your avocado.

Now to find an avocado!

I cut mine lengthwise and then make cuts inside lengthwise and across. Then I scoop it out and it’s perfect for guac.

I cut lengthwise, and I’ve never seen or heard of doing so otherwise until now. Interesting…

That’s what I thought. I did Google it. There are people that cut it in a circle, but I think it’s more common to do it length-wise.

I would think it would be much harder to scoop out when cut in a circle. I guess some people just think a little differently…

Down Under we cut our avos in a circle.

I would think lengthwise would make it easier to scoop out the contents?

No idea – I don’t like avocados.

I cut mine lengthwise and then scoop in out in one fell swoop with a spoon. The second avocado looks like a sphere. If so, I doubt if it would matter.

I’ve always seen the avocado cut length-wise, so was surprised to see someone cut it in a circle.

Hmm I cut in a circle but now you have me rethinking my method.

Is that how they do it in Indiana? LOL – I think I saw a Chef do it length-wise, so do it that way.

No idea. My Mrs. said “cut the avocado” so I cut the avocado! 😄

I usually slice mine lengthwise around the pit, twist the halves apart, remove the pit, and score or scoop the flesh.

I am a length slicer. But I can see the benefits of round slicing.

Agree, it’s just different.

I don’t cut my avocado because I never eat one. I am not a fan and I never acquired the taste. Which is a shame because by some measures avocados are “superfoods”. Guacamole? Yes! It’s the only way I’ll get any avo into my diet 🙂

Hahaha… I don’t eat them all the time, but they are good for us.
