Recently, I saw a video that showed how different pets wake up their owners. There were some really aggressive pets. One dog pulled himself up on the side of the bed, took his paw and proceeded to hit the owner in the face, multiple times. It was funny, well, not to the owner. Another clip showed an owner sleeping and the cat went on top of its owner and bit the owner’s nose. OUCH!
My daughter was asked to watch a friend’s daughter for a week while they went out of town. Here’s what’s comical. My daughter was hoping all would go well with this young girl. Turns out the girl was easy, it was the cat that was full of drama.
The cat would constantly whine and cry. She didn’t know what to do. She gave it food, water, petted the cat — WHAT else? I laughed and said, “You used to do that when you were a baby, I couldn’t figure it out.”
One morning, the cat wanted breakfast. The cat jumped on the bed. THIS is what she saw, two eyes staring at her.
I don’t have any pets, just an alarm clock with a rooster sound. You laugh? It works, I hate it, I get up!
How does your pet wake you up?
LOL! My little dog actually pulls the covers off me if I don’t get up. Pets are funny.

We lock our cat out of our bedroom at night. She sleeps all day so at night she’s active and interrupts our sleep. At first she was annoyed – meowing and scratching at the door but eventually she realized it was a regular routine and got used to it. Problem solved!

Funny, I do believe that is what Stephen King saw when he woke up. We all know what that led to.

HA! I love the picture! I don’t have pets but my sisters cats used to meow at the bedroom door at 5am…..and if you forgot to shut the door they would sit near your head and purr loudly. If you pushed them off the bed, they would climb back up and try again and again. I guess they wanted to be fed….so the only solution was to get up and feed them. I’m not a morning person, so that’s why I don’t have cats.

You are right, cats are normally early morning beings and they do have a routine. Being fed, going outside if they go outside, then back to napping. LOL

The dogs prefer to sleep in, the cat on the otherhand gets up at 4 am. She wants treats! She jumps on us, meows, runs, races, meows, jumps on us. Repeat. This goes on until we relent to her needs around 5:30 am. She also tries to wake the dogs – they are good at ignoring her. Anybody want a cat?

Oh my gosh, I’m an early morning person, but not “wide awake” for that type of a wake up call.

Have not needed the use of an alarm clock in 9 years. I would normally be up by 6 at the latest, up really, 4AM!

Hi Monica,
What a great, and terrifying picture.
I don’t have any pets, but would love dogs. I don’t think I would mind if they woke me up.
Blessings!

I know, as we are older, we wake up early anyhow, right. At least I do. By the way, how was the ski trip? I need to see if you’ve posted about this.
